Superbowl XLII Last 10 Seconds
This is the last 10 seconds of the game. It takes almost five minutes to play out the last one second, becaues of the crowd. Gameplay is followed by an emotional interview with Giants receiver Plaxico Burress. The New York Giants clinch a stunning victory over the previously undefeated New England Patriots. Big Blue spoiled the Pats' chance to make NFL history by being the first time ever to go 19-0. The only in modern NFL history to have a completely undefeated season right through the Superbowl was the 1972 Miami Dolphins, who won the Superbowl and ended the season with a 17-0 record. This was the Giants' first Superbowl win in 17 years.

In the Path of the Wall
A short film showing a non-violent direct action against the Israeli Apartheid Wall in the West Bank village of Bil'in on the 20th July 2005. Four internationals, three Israelis and one Palestinian chain themselves inside a metal cylinder which is placed in the path of the bulldozers that daily come to destroy the land belonging to the village and annex it to a nearby settlement. While the world's attention is fixed on the so-called 'disengagement' from Gaza, the Israeli government is rapidly carrying out settlement expansion and land confiscation and destruction in the West Bank. This film shows the customary force used by the Israeli Occupation Forces when their actions are resisted.

Why We Fight 1: Prelude to War
"Prelude to War," Chapter I of Frank Capra's "Why We Fight" series, describes World War II as a battle between the "slave world" of fascism and the "free world" of American liberty. In the "slave world," the entire populations of Germany, Italy and Japan have been hoodwinked by madmen, opportunists who capitalized on their people's desperation and weakness to rise to power. These demagogues promised revenge for past losses, and in the process convinced their people to give up their rights and accept dictatorship. In the "free world," the principles of equality, freedom, and liberty characterize the greatest leaders, embodied in the works and words of Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln. This freedom is a threat to the fascist dictators of the Axis powers, who claim that democracy is weak and must be eradicated. The film claims that the ultimate goal of the Axis powers is to enslave the nations of the "free world," a desire made manifest in the Japanese
invasion of Manchuria and Mussolini's destruction of Ethiopia.

Why We Fight 4: Battle of Britain
"The Battle of Britain," Chapter IV of Frank Capra's "Why We Fight" series, begins after Hitler's conquest of Western Europe. Once firmly in control of the parts of France and Norway closest to Great Britain, the Nazis commence their massive air assault on the British isles. Outnumbered six to one, the fighters of the Royal Air Force defend their skies against the Luftwaffe for close to four months. Capra embellishes the British successes, for example the film claims the RAF fought 200 dogfights in the first thirty minutes of the battle alone, and that by the end of the first month they had destroyed 900 German planes. (In truth, the number is closer to 260). However, the success of the British defenses forced the Germans to change strategies, switching to more frightening night raids that terrorized London. But the British resolve won the day, in grand fashion. The film claims total German losses of more than 2,700. The real number is closer to 1,600. The number of downed British planes equaled approximately half that of Germany.

Benny Hinn is a Fraud 1of3
Benny Hinn is a religious leader who claims to be running a non-profit healing charity. Turns out he's pretty much living it up on donor funds, and his "healings" are staged by specially trained workers who cull the crowd down so that no one who's "disease" can be seen, ever gets to "Pastor" Benny. Notice that you never ever ever EVER see anyone in a wheelchair get up out of it at one of Benny's snake oil shows. The only "healings" that go on, are of people who have non-visible "ailments". The healings are a sham that are orchestrated to get the faithful to heap millions upon millions of dollars into this liar's coffers.

Former NYC Mayor David Dinkins
In the early 80s and later in the mid-90s, I worked at a satellite broadcasting station just outside NY City called the Good News Network. I was amazed to find this early clip from 1984 among some old VHS tapes that were sent to me recently. This was one of our very early stabs at creating religious video programming. It's a bit called "I'm Thankful" where people were interviewed about what they are thankful for. This one was with David Dinkins, who at the time the mayor of New York City. The interviewer is Juanita Kretschmar, who directed the station.

Sunday, February 17th 2008, 1:49 PM
TAMPA, Fla. — A deputy who was videotaped dumping a paralyzed man out of his wheelchair onto a Tampa jailhouse floor has been released from jail after posting bail.
Jail records show Charlette Marshall-Jones was booked into the Orient Road jail early Saturday after turning herself in.
It is the same jail where Marshall-Jones worked. She is accused of tipping 32-year-old Brian Sterner out of his wheelchair. A videotape of the incident has been widely circulated.
The Hillsborough County deputy was charged with one count of felony abuse of a disabled person and released after posting $3,500 bail. An attorney for Marshall-Jones listed in jail records did not return a phone message.

Ken Repkow Interview
I was visiting with Kenny Repkow on 070707 (July 7, 2007) and he got talking about how he started his recording studio in Osoyoos. He told me that he really tries to bring his years of professional musical experience into the work he does for his customers. I had my (vhs) video camera pointing at him, sitting on my lap, and so I just hit record. It was dark, and the camera's autofocus struggled at times to get a clear picture, but it's a great "interview", especially because it takes Ken awhile to realize that's what it is :) The Master Factory Studio is located in Osoyoos.
